Cellulite is Not Here To Stay!

If you’re like most women, you have cellulite. Over 80% of women have cellulite, regardless of their level of physical fitness. Lucky us! And if you are like me, you have tried various methods to get rid of it, including diet and exercise, creams, and machines. You can exercise all you want, and not get rid of your cellulite. You can slather up with lotions and potions, and, in my case, not get rid of cellulite. You can try cellulite reduction machines that move the fat around, but what good does that do? Finally, I found the VelaShape(TM)! It has been shown various places such as the Rachael Ray Show, the Dr. Phil Show, E! News and many others. So I decided to look into it.

Being into “data,” I of course looked at the clinical study results before trying the treatment. Much to my surprise, in a multi-center study, the study said 85% of the treated areas had a measured reduction of thigh circumference from at least 1cm up to 7.2 cm (approximately 0.5 to 3.5 cm) as well as a gradual smoothening of the skin’s surface with a noticeable reduction in cellulite. All of this with only 4 or 5 treatments!

The VelaShape is an FDA-cleared, non-surgical alternative for cellulite reduction and what they call body contouring, which means reducing the fat in hard to get areas, like saddlebags or the back of the bra area. It’s also great for post-baby tummies. The secret behind VelaShape’s success is the combination of infrared and radio waves together with vacuum and mechanical massage. This combination reduces the volume and appearance of fat tissues by penetrating to deeper tissues beneath the skin. What that means is each treatment results in increased metabolism and lymphatic drainage in the area being targeted and reduces the size of the actual fat cells and fat chambers. The result is a treatment that is non-surgical, with no down-time. And time is something most of us can’t afford to lose!

There are some side effects, like skin discoloration and mild bruising. This is common and should be expected. Active ingredients are heat-regulated and pore-clearing. This means the heat generated by the treatment can reduce the size of the fat cells and break up the fat. For maximum results, this is best done on an outpatient basis after the initial treatment with a cold-water rinse. I hate those things!

For most people, cellulite is a non-issue. Think of it as Body surfing. It’s like surfacing up a big waves and learning to ride the wave. But as someone who suffered from this problem (through cystic acne on my back for three years) I learned that there are ways to treat it. I also learned that many of the medicines and potions available to fight cellulite just can’t make it past the top layer of skin. It’s like putting a Band-Aid on a bee sting.

Cellulite is caused by a hormonal imbalance within your body. Your genes plus your diet all play a role in it. Some people do have an apparent high amount of cellulite simply due to genetics. Diet can also play a critical role in the appearance of cellulite.

There are other alternative treatments such as Endermologie (a non-surgicalMassage Treatment) that has shown to be effective in combining aerobic exercise with lymphatic massage. I just had to have mine treated professionally. It clears up just like that!

If you just had that check-up last year, you may still be plagued by cellulite. You might not see cellulite on your legs for months. But it can still be helpful to review what others have done. One review that I especially like was for a brand called Dermology. It’s a machine-driven roll that massages all of your cellulite problem areas. And it totally eliminates cellulite!

There are probably hundreds more products out there that promise to eliminate cellulite. Maybe the key here is to avoid expensive treatments such as liposuction. They can be effective if you have some loose skin but I’m sure you’ll find something better with Dermology’s roller for cellulite.
