Do you want to start off your new year with some simple skin care routines? We certainly do. This time of year, different changes in our body begin to kick in, and our skin pays attention. For many, this is when they look into developing a simple skin care routine to help keep skin clear and radiant.

Here are some key things to include in your new year’s skin care routine:

-Exercise. Exercise will help to warm up and energize the skin, and also help to drain toxins. The result? healthier, better looking skin.

-Focus on your Diet. You’ve heard it before in your life, but here’s the bottom line: a proper diet will help to keep your skin in the best shape possible! And bottom line is…a little exercise never hurt you either.

-Moisturize.Moisturizers help to keep skin supple and aid in the removal of dead skin cells. It also helps to keep skin hydrated, which helps the skin look youthful and healthy.

-Protect.Protecting your skin is the last of the simple skin care routines we can follow. Yes, there are several causes to poor facial skin health, but some of them are preventable. Keeping sunscreen on your face and the rest of your body will help keep them looking youthful and healthy.

The last of the simple routines that I am about to outline for you may seem overly simple, but I guarantee you that you will see great results if you follow them religiously. Here’s wishing you all the best for a great year!

Wash your face with lukewarm water. I know many of you prefer to use cold water, but since it’s winter in the Southern weather regions it’s a little harder to get away from coming in contact with cold water. So for coffees, tip your barbeques away from the frigid temperatures to avoid dehydration.

Use a top shelf cleanser. With the toxins that are in our air and our water regimen, cleanser is a nice safe place to start. Buy the kind of cleanser that your face moisturizes too. If you have dry skin use a dry skin cleanser, and if you have oily skin use an oil free cleanser. If you have sensitive skin, use a non irritating cleanser.

Exfoliate. This is the next step in my Simple Skin Care Routine. Exfoliating will clean out your pores and allow your skin to breathe more freely. You will notice immediate improvements in the way your skin looks. Be sure to exfoliate the skin on your hands as well to keep them smooth and moisturized.

Use a toner or astringent. Your cleanser and moisturizer are great, but they aren’t enough to remove all the dirt and grime that may accumulate on your skin day to day. For this reason, you are going to need a toner or astringent to help close those pores and get back the glow your skin may be lacking. If you don’t feel like corning your skin with a toner on a daily basis, why not try a facial expel mask? Apply this product to the face and neck and wait 45 minutes for the mask to dry. Peel away the clear top and reveal smoother, softer skin.

Moisturize. You should moisturize your face and neck on a daily basis. If you have oily skin, you may want to avoid moisturizing, since it attracts more dirt and grime to your skin that it does not absorb. If you skin is dry, you can skip the toner/astringent process and apply moisturizer after your shower or soap. You may also want to use a high quality moisturizer at bedtime for the added benefit of soft, smooth skin in the morning.

Eat a healthy diet. Ever heard the phrase “You are what you eat?” Well, this is more or less true. “You” wouldn’t be grime and bacteria-free, but you may not want a constant reminder like a fat-Knowniledamia Smoother would surely let everyone know. A combination of olive oil, a hint ofmond oil, somevitamin E,flaxseed or oily fish will do wonders for the skin.

Stay curious. While we’re not all perfect, we should all try to be our best. Read up on skincare products to see what the new products are doing the rounds–and as always, read labels before you use anything.
